Le Bois Plage is situated on the Ile de Ré, meaning in the department of Charente-Maritime. Historically, Le Bois Plage is one of the eldest beach resorts. It is known for the beaches carrying the 2014 Pavillon Bleu, spreading over almost 6 kilometers, but also for its daily market that brings the village to life. This market takes place from 1st April to 30th September. It is one of the most popular holiday destinations of the area. Holidaymakers and tourists can practise water sports here as the beach is set behind the dunes. When it comes to water sports that can be practised here: sailing, swimming, surfingand windsurfing. Outdoor sports: tennis, cycling, hiking and angling.
All the fresh products (fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, oysters and other shells …) are to be discovered on the market of Bois Plage, in the center of the village, 800 meters from the campsite Les Varennes. It is the biggest and most animated of the Ile de Ré, every morning from April to September.
Just next door, the rides of the mini fair will delight the youngest ones!
The village also has a supermarket (Carrefour Market), many shops, as well as bars and restaurants that will satisfy the finest gourmets.
Thanks to the mild climate, Le Bois Plage can be visited all year round. La Coopérative des Vignerons de l’Île de Ré: the vines make up a large part of the landscapes of the Île de Ré. Visits to the winery and tastings of locally produced wines, pineaux and cognacs are regularly organized.

Near the Island, discover the Ile d’Aix and approach the famous Fort Boyard with the Croisières Inter-iles.
Visit La Rochelle on the Atlantic coast, its old port and its superb Aquarium. On board a boat, discover the Green Venice in the Natural Park of the Marais Poitevin.
Admire the Corderie Royale de Rochefort near the reconstruction site of the Hermione, the frigate on which Lafayette traveled in 1780.
